Me as a blogger

During the past semester I was introduced to blogging. At first I was totally against becoming another blogger, but I realized I just had to grit my teeth and blog away and I found out it was not that bad. I am one of those guys who put their homework off till the last possible moment and I dread every minute of doing it, but when it came to posting a weekly blog I really didn't mind it and I secretly enjoyed posting a new entry.
I think that after this semester in Writ 101 I have became a better writer. I notice a lot more of my grammatical errors and I just feel overall more comfortable with the whole writing process. Writing these blogs have been a new experience for me in the aspect of writing academically for an audience of my peers as well as the teacher. Since my first blog I think you can see that my writing has improved substantially, but I can't really pick my best work. I did enjoy writing the 2 truths 1 lie blog the best out of all the others.

My over all impression of more formal web writing is I didn't find it too bad. I didn't think that I would find it fun but in the end I can say that I actually did. After this class ends, I don't think that I will be a habitual blogger but maybe I will keep my account going and keep on blogging every once and a while.

Spot The Lie

For this blog I chose the Two truths and one lie. I will tell you two true things about my life as well as one lie. See if you can spot the lie and leave me comments on what you think my one lie is.

When I was in fifth grade I lived in Seattle, WA. I lived about half a mile away from the school and I usually walked to school, however on this day it was raining really hard even for Seattle standards. I was really dreading the walk to school because I know I wouldn't have be all dried out till well after lunch. But then I remembered that my dad way working out of town and his car was still home, at this time my mom had already left for work so I figured what would the harm be if I took the Tahoe to school. So I just took the keys and drove the back streets to school. I had even parked it perfectly and went on my way to class. Little did I know I was spotted by a teacher and was snitched on to the Police, and was hauled away and taken to the station to call my mom and tell her what I had done. All and all it was a pretty dumb thing to do but by the next day I was a legend.

I have been in competitive BMX for 12 years I have won and lost my fair share of races, I am mainly in it for the fun and thrill of it. Although when I was 17 I was offered an amazing opportunity to be sponsored by Monster Energy my favorite energy drink company that I had wanted to be sponsored by for so long. Ever sense then,I have been riding with the support of the green M.

The last thing about me is I'm a huge fan of Prime Rib and could eat it every day.

Couldn't Be More Entertaining!

Cops is probably the easiest to film and cheapest TV show on today, but in my opinion, is there really a better show on TV these days? I would have to say not even close! There are many things that I love about the fox hit show that a lot of people would probably disagree with.
Other than the raw entertaining factors, I think there is also a good thing about the TV show. I think that it shows real cops in real situations trying to do better on the streets, and I believe that even though the TV show was created for entertainment, it actually helps put the police in a more positive light for the general public and helps to get rid of the bad stigma that comes with cops. It shows everything that cops have to deal with from catching a snake in an elderly lady's basement to the arrest of an America's most-wanted double murder suspect. For these reasons I think people are more open minded toward the police instead of thinking there is just another "pig" looking for speeders. For these reasons I think Cops is one of the better TV shows out today.

Three Op-Ed's--- that totally rock!

NCAA

-http://blogs.usatoday.com/oped/2010/03/letters-ncaa-should-enforce-higher-standards-for-studentathletes-.html?csp=34&utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+News-Opinion+%28News+-+Opinion%29 ...... This was a good article that talks about how college's should have stiffer enforcements for student NCAA players. this article also goes into how it seems that colleges don't care if the player is qualified to be in college classes just if he is good at basketball.

1. Rolling Stone issue 1098, February 18, Pg 42-47, Interview with Lil Wayne written by Chris Norris.

I found this interview very useful because it specifically goes into how Lil Wayne can sustain his fame from behind bars, and the measures he is taking to do all he can before he went into prison for gun charges to make sure he is just as successful upon release.

This article goes into why the multi gold medalist Shaun White had a $500,000 secret half pipe made only for him. For one main reason to sustain his fame and status as one of the world's best snowboarder.

I used this article to reference all of Ryan Sheckler's achievements, Gold medals, Sponsors, and product lines.

I used this to look up some of the most wealthy celebrities to see their net worth and also how much of their money they give to charities and other donations. To see if there is any correlation between giving to charities, sustaining their fame, and or social status.

5. As for my peer review journal I am still looking for one, and am having no such luck. If anyone has an idea I would love to hear it. My topic is how celebrities sustain their fame. thanks

My Paper Topic

I would like to write my paper on how celebrities sustain their fame. It took me a long time, and I put a lot of thought into how I can twist the topic that I don't know or care anything about, into something I can write 2,000 words on.
I came up with this topic because I find it very interesting, from the very thought out marketing strategies, to the more desperate or as they would say "accidental" no underwear paparazzi shot, and all that in-between to maintain on top.

Cheese Whiz, Yes PLEASE!

There is a lot of great food out there but few things are as genuinely tasty as the cheese in the can called Cheese Whiz. Cheese Whiz is good on so manny different things such as; Soft or hard pretzels, crackers, hamburgers, and even just right out of the can. In the can it says made from real cheese, however I do love the stuff but after doing a little research i found that the cheese whiz actually contains no really cheese what so ever.
I think that because of the limits of laws limitations there are ways to make a product sound like your getting the best of the best real stuff, however because of marketing loop holes they can say your receiving reel cheese because there is a little cow byproduct in the cheese. Real or not the cheese is delicious, and for only 80 calories a serving. The easy cheese is not the most unhealthy snack to choose on especially when having a tasty cheese craving.
