After taking the Enneagram quiz my result number was a nine. Which says that I am calm, laid-back and optimistic. I agree with the number I received mainly because I believe that those three traits listed are the three main parts of my overall personality.
All my life I have been quite laid back and calm about most situations, for example; I never really sweat the small stuff that seems to get all the other people worked up and lose sleep over. Also, I tend to take the most favorable view on the conditions presented to me and expect the most favorable outcome, therefore I would also have to agree that at least part of my personality is optimistic.
That is pretty interesting, I am a seven, but a lot of these qualities kind of fit me too. I don't really know how accurate this thing is though. It seems they just evenly divide up all the traits a normal person has into different groups, so a person can pretty much fit into any group.
ReplyDeleteKyle: what you describe is called the "forer effect" I encourage you to look into it. I think the enneagram is pretty deft at avoiding this effect that plagues many personality systems, but again, it's always up for debate.
