Me as a blogger

During the past semester I was introduced to blogging. At first I was totally against becoming another blogger, but I realized I just had to grit my teeth and blog away and I found out it was not that bad. I am one of those guys who put their homework off till the last possible moment and I dread every minute of doing it, but when it came to posting a weekly blog I really didn't mind it and I secretly enjoyed posting a new entry.
I think that after this semester in Writ 101 I have became a better writer. I notice a lot more of my grammatical errors and I just feel overall more comfortable with the whole writing process. Writing these blogs have been a new experience for me in the aspect of writing academically for an audience of my peers as well as the teacher. Since my first blog I think you can see that my writing has improved substantially, but I can't really pick my best work. I did enjoy writing the 2 truths 1 lie blog the best out of all the others.

My over all impression of more formal web writing is I didn't find it too bad. I didn't think that I would find it fun but in the end I can say that I actually did. After this class ends, I don't think that I will be a habitual blogger but maybe I will keep my account going and keep on blogging every once and a while.

Spot The Lie

For this blog I chose the Two truths and one lie. I will tell you two true things about my life as well as one lie. See if you can spot the lie and leave me comments on what you think my one lie is.

When I was in fifth grade I lived in Seattle, WA. I lived about half a mile away from the school and I usually walked to school, however on this day it was raining really hard even for Seattle standards. I was really dreading the walk to school because I know I wouldn't have be all dried out till well after lunch. But then I remembered that my dad way working out of town and his car was still home, at this time my mom had already left for work so I figured what would the harm be if I took the Tahoe to school. So I just took the keys and drove the back streets to school. I had even parked it perfectly and went on my way to class. Little did I know I was spotted by a teacher and was snitched on to the Police, and was hauled away and taken to the station to call my mom and tell her what I had done. All and all it was a pretty dumb thing to do but by the next day I was a legend.

I have been in competitive BMX for 12 years I have won and lost my fair share of races, I am mainly in it for the fun and thrill of it. Although when I was 17 I was offered an amazing opportunity to be sponsored by Monster Energy my favorite energy drink company that I had wanted to be sponsored by for so long. Ever sense then,I have been riding with the support of the green M.

The last thing about me is I'm a huge fan of Prime Rib and could eat it every day.

Couldn't Be More Entertaining!

Cops is probably the easiest to film and cheapest TV show on today, but in my opinion, is there really a better show on TV these days? I would have to say not even close! There are many things that I love about the fox hit show that a lot of people would probably disagree with.
Other than the raw entertaining factors, I think there is also a good thing about the TV show. I think that it shows real cops in real situations trying to do better on the streets, and I believe that even though the TV show was created for entertainment, it actually helps put the police in a more positive light for the general public and helps to get rid of the bad stigma that comes with cops. It shows everything that cops have to deal with from catching a snake in an elderly lady's basement to the arrest of an America's most-wanted double murder suspect. For these reasons I think people are more open minded toward the police instead of thinking there is just another "pig" looking for speeders. For these reasons I think Cops is one of the better TV shows out today.

1. Rolling Stone issue 1098, February 18, Pg 42-47, Interview with Lil Wayne written by Chris Norris.

I found this interview very useful because it specifically goes into how Lil Wayne can sustain his fame from behind bars, and the measures he is taking to do all he can before he went into prison for gun charges to make sure he is just as successful upon release.

This article goes into why the multi gold medalist Shaun White had a $500,000 secret half pipe made only for him. For one main reason to sustain his fame and status as one of the world's best snowboarder.

I used this article to reference all of Ryan Sheckler's achievements, Gold medals, Sponsors, and product lines.

I used this to look up some of the most wealthy celebrities to see their net worth and also how much of their money they give to charities and other donations. To see if there is any correlation between giving to charities, sustaining their fame, and or social status.

5. As for my peer review journal I am still looking for one, and am having no such luck. If anyone has an idea I would love to hear it. My topic is how celebrities sustain their fame. thanks

My Paper Topic

I would like to write my paper on how celebrities sustain their fame. It took me a long time, and I put a lot of thought into how I can twist the topic that I don't know or care anything about, into something I can write 2,000 words on.
I came up with this topic because I find it very interesting, from the very thought out marketing strategies, to the more desperate or as they would say "accidental" no underwear paparazzi shot, and all that in-between to maintain on top.

Cheese Whiz, Yes PLEASE!

There is a lot of great food out there but few things are as genuinely tasty as the cheese in the can called Cheese Whiz. Cheese Whiz is good on so manny different things such as; Soft or hard pretzels, crackers, hamburgers, and even just right out of the can. In the can it says made from real cheese, however I do love the stuff but after doing a little research i found that the cheese whiz actually contains no really cheese what so ever.
I think that because of the limits of laws limitations there are ways to make a product sound like your getting the best of the best real stuff, however because of marketing loop holes they can say your receiving reel cheese because there is a little cow byproduct in the cheese. Real or not the cheese is delicious, and for only 80 calories a serving. The easy cheese is not the most unhealthy snack to choose on especially when having a tasty cheese craving.

1 with a Bullet

After listening to this shot story by Tobias Wolff I realize that I need to start using better describing words in my stories. The reason I say that is because in this sorry I noticed that the author used a lot of describing words, and I believe that is very important to have in order to suck your audience in and paint a very good, and clear picture with words so the reader can feel more apart of the readings.

There were many other things I liked about the sorry, however my favorite part of the short story was when the main character got shot and all of these last thoughts went through his head, none of those thoughts were the big things in his life, it was the small things in his life that were his last peaceful and tranquil thoughts, and memories. I think the author was trying to point out that sometimes the things that mean the most to us in our lives are the small things, like just playing a pick up game with the guys.

Day in the life of a 4th grader.

Its 6:55 AM on a winter morning in Seattle, Washington and I am awaken by the sound of my mom’s voice saying “rise and shine” as she pulls the shades up and lets the morning light fill the room as I try with all my might to resist. As much as I want to go back to bed, or at least snooze for 10 more minutes, I remember its Monday and there is a new Pokémon episode that’s starts at 7:00, So I pop out of bed with not the slightest feeling of being tired and race down to the big screen to watch Ash and the Pokémon defeat team rocket yet again.

After my truly favorite show was over I felt over come with energy and ready to face the day, so I race back up to get dressed and come back down stairs for the big breakfast that my mom has made for my sister and I. Now it’s about 8:00 AM and my friends knock at the door so that we can all walk to school together, it was a train thing, everyone’s mothers wanted to keep every one safe, kind of like a buddy system.

Once we all arrive at school most of the buddy system has to split up so I head to Miss Bars fourth grade class. Once the tardy bell rings class begins and Miss Bar started to hand out the spelling test forms. I realized that not only haven’t I practiced them at all, but also I haven’t even seen the list of the spelling words before. “Well here is another spelling test that my parents will never be able to see, “ I think to myself.

Once the torture of the spelling test was over it was time for lunch, which worked for me. I love lunch because I don’t have to stand in line and wait for that half step above prison food because I have a fresh lunch made by my mom, it’s an egg salad sandwich, an ice cold Mountain Dew, as well as other tasty snacks.

As the day at school winds down, the buddy system starts to form again, that means we are ready to go back home for the day. We walk the 3 blocks to Matt’s house, I didn’t mind stopping for two reasons N64 video games plus his mom was quite the cougar. I burn a few hours throwing my best game at Matt’s mom getting little to no positive feedback.

Once I see the streetlights come on I better get home quick, or I would have some explaining to do! My family would always have dinner together around the table every night and this evening was exactly that same way.

After dinner we would do homework if we had some, however it is weird because I never had homework. So I just would watch TV with my dad till my bedtime!

My Enneagram Number

After taking the Enneagram quiz my result number was a nine. Which says that I am calm, laid-back and optimistic. I agree with the number I received mainly because I believe that those three traits listed are the three main parts of my overall personality.

All my life I have been quite laid back and calm about most situations, for example; I never really sweat the small stuff that seems to get all the other people worked up and lose sleep over. Also, I tend to take the most favorable view on the conditions presented to me and expect the most favorable outcome, therefore I would also have to agree that at least part of my personality is optimistic.
